This was one of my favorite Korean restaurants 10 years ago when I lived in the area. My grandfather used to always say that this restaurant reminded him of his hometown. Came back yesterday and it did not disappoint. Extremely friendly staff and the flavors are so authentic. My wife was so impressed and we had such a great experience. I highly recommend this place For the folks complaining that you need to order at least two meats - it's because it takes extra effort for a waiter to serve, clean the grill, and bring out the banchans. Absolutely worth it though.

I tried the Yangnyeom Galbi today, and it was absolutely amazing! The meat was thick, tender, and perfectly marinated — every bite was full of rich, savory-sweet flavor. The balance between sweetness and saltiness was spot-on, and the smoky charcoal aroma made it even better. There was no gamey smell at all, and it paired perfectly with a bowl of rice The portion size was generous, and the staff even helped grill the meat, so it was super easy to enjoy. Overall, a 10/10 experience — I’d definitely come back again with friends!

I’ve been coming to HamJiBak since the early 2000’s and they are still busy as they were back then, that says a lot in this economy. The staff always greets us with a smile and generosity. The sankypsal (pork belly) used to be thicker but over time it has gotten thinner, which I understand why. The food is good and the banchan are delicious!
